You don\u2019t need us to tell you about changes to the Irish pub over the last few years. Between new arrivals coming in from across the water, competition from off-licences and changes in public behaviour and social trends when it comes to drinking, the Irish pub sector has probably seen more change of late than it\u2019s ever done before.<\/p>\n

Banter<\/a>\u00a0is linking up with\u00a0The Locals<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Discotekken<\/a>\u00a0for\u00a0a special event<\/a>\u00a0about the Irish pub on Easter Sunday, 48 hours after the day when prohibition rules the roost across the country.<\/p>\n

Banter\u2019s contribution to the event is a where-we-are-and-where-we\u2019re-going discussion about publand featuring a number of Irish publicans, namely\u00a0Tony McMahon<\/strong>\u00a0(owner of\u00a0Johnnie Fox\u2019s<\/a>),\u00a0Trevor O\u2019Shea<\/strong>\u00a0(Bodytonic<\/a>, the Bernard Shaw, The Twisted Pepper, MVP, The Back Page and The Yacht),\u00a0Se\u00e1neen Sullivan<\/a>\u00a0(L Mulligan Grocer) and\u00a0Oliver Hughes<\/a>\u00a0(CEO\u00a0the Portherhouse Group<\/a>\u00a0and founder of the\u00a0Dingle Distillery<\/a>).<\/p>\n

Aside from the Banter discussion, the event will also feature a screening of\u00a0The Irish Pub<\/a>\u00a0documentary, produced and directed by Alex Fegan<\/a>, and a performance from\u00a0Ensemble Eriu<\/a>.<\/p>\n
