There\u2019s a great line-up of events planned for the\u00a0MusicTown<\/a>\u00a0festival in Dublin next month. Promoted by Dublin City Council, the festival will feature over 60 events throughout the city from April 6 to 17 inspired by the capital\u2019s musical heritage and vibrant music scene.<\/p>\n

As part of the festival,\u00a0Banter<\/a>\u00a0will be hosting two events. The first takes place at the\u00a0Teeling Whiskey Distillery<\/a>, Newmarket, Dublin 8 on Saturday April 9. There will be music and words from\u00a0Rusangano Family<\/a>\u00a0at 1pm with MuRli, God Knows and mynameisjOhn talking about their new album \u201cLet the Dead Bury the Dead\u201d, roots, hip-hop, identity, Ireland and the future \u2013 and performing tracks from their new album. The band will also perform in Dublin\u2019s Sugar Club on the same night.<\/p>\n

This will be followed by three radioheads discussing how music on the radio can foster, kindle and develop a love affair with music.\u00a0Kelly-Anne Byrne<\/a>\u00a0(Today FM, TXFM),\u00a0Philip King<\/a>\u00a0(RTE Radio One, Other Voices) and\u00a0Donal Dineen<\/a>\u00a0(from Today FM to 2FM) will talk about the power of radio and music selectors.<\/p>\n

The second Banter event is a meet the family conversation with\u00a0Neneh Cherry<\/a>\u00a0at\u00a0the Wintergarden in the National Gallery of Ireland<\/a>, Merrion Square West, Dublin 2 on Saturday April 16 at 7pm.<\/p>\n

Neneh Cherry is the adventurous, pioneering and innovative singer, songwriter and performer who has been producing cool, sassy pop all her life, from \u201cBuffalo Stance\u201d and \u201c7 Seconds\u201d to the recent \u201cBlank Project\u201d album via collaborations with Gorillaz, Michael Stipe, Groove Armada, Pulp, Peter Gabriel, The Slits and Kleerup.<\/p>\n
