What\u2019s your best gig you\u2019ve ever seen? That\u2019s a question which stops most music fans in their tracks and sets off some great memories, fierce discussions and occasionally some rowdy disagreements.<\/p>\n
It was also the starting point for a new book from Dublin\u2019s punk rock and DIY scene activists\u00a0Hope Collective<\/a>. Editors\u00a0Niall McGuirk<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Michael Murphy<\/a>\u00a0asked\u00a0a bunch of people<\/a>\u00a0to write about their favourite live shows and the returns were collated into a just published book entitled\u00a0In Concert: Favourite Gigs of Ireland\u2019s Music Community<\/a>.<\/p>\n <\/a><\/p>\n On Tuesday February 21, Niall, Michael and a number of those who\u2019ve contributed to the book (see below) \u2013 plus some special guests \u2013 will join us at Banter to talk about the book, the notion of favourite gigs and read their selections as well. Audience contributions welcome too.<\/p>\n The full list of guests is as follows:<\/p>\n Ellie & Louise McNamara<\/strong>\u00a0(Heathers<\/a>) on The Mountain Goats, Bloomington 2011 Banter on In Concert will take place at Wigam (Middle Abbey Street, Dublin 1) on Tuesday February 21. Doors open at 6pm and the event will kick off at 6.30pm. Tickets can be booked\u00a0here<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0and, like the book, all proceeds will go to the\u00a0Irish Red Cross\u2019 Syria Appeal<\/a>.
